Essay#1

    My life is like a journey. I bumped into a lot of walls as the ship crashed into a rock. But every time I bumped, I got a lot of treasure. It turned my journey into a fulfilling one.

    I was born in Kumamoto on December 7, 1998. I have four people in my family, a father, a mother, a brother and me. My brother is two years older than me. I bumped into a wall for the first time when I was an elementary school student. I joined in basketball club from the middle of the fourth grade in elementary school so I practiced more than others every weekend with my father. Thanks to that, I became able to play basketball as good as others. When I was sixth grade in elementary school, I became the captain of this team. But our team’s coach was very severe. There was nothing which one is more be afraid of than him for me. I often got yelled at. I was a crybaby so I cried every time when I was scolded. He was too severe so I skipped practice few times. It was the year that I cried the most in my journey and I played the wag for the first time but thanks to my teammates I could overcome this difficulty. The years of being a junior high school student was as rough as a typhoon. When I was a high school student, I got into the difficulty. It was the university entrance exam. This year was the time when I studied the most in my journey but I couldn’t overcome this difficulty easily and I failed some times. In the end, I gave up and chose a different path. I tried to think that this was my destiny so I wouldn’t regret my decision and decided to do my best in this path.

The Happy Prince and The Nightingale and the Rose

 "Bring me the two most precious things in the city," said God to one of his angel is. And the Angel brings him the Prince's heart and the dead bird. (p.36)

 When I read this book, I thought that I want t o be a person like Happy Prince or the Nightingale. They sacrificed themselves for other person's happiness. So I respected them and I will emulate them.
  I read one of his book, "The Importance of Being Earnest". When I read this book, I thought that Wilde was the person who had a strange way of thinking. But after reading this book, I was moved. So I respected him and I want to read his other books.

The Piano

"SIR ANTHONY EVANS PLAYS LISZT." (p.1)

  There is a farm boy. Oneday, he found a beautiful old piano. But he has never played before, but now, he is famous pianist.

  Usually, famous artist is a son or daughter of famous artist. But in this story, main character is a son ofhe poor family. So he must have made an effort to be a pianist. When I was a child, I also learned the piano. And my parents bought me a piano. But I was no so thankful to my parents. My parents made what I am today. So I thought that I should thank my parents more.

Sky Jack!

 The air hostess smiled. "Welcome aboard, sir. Would you like a newspaper?" (p.1)

  This story is about terrorists. But one of terrorists is a girl who is twenty years old. And their purpose is so sad. Their country is very poor and their parents have been out of a job. But the rich came their country and they were really ordered by the rich. So they wanted to revenge on the rich. This is their purpose. I feel sorry for people who are living in poor country. We are same human so we should live equally. Japan is not poor country, so I think that we are living luxuriously. I wanted to fund-raising for the poor country.

Princess Diana

"On 1 July 1961, a baby girl was born at her family home, in Sandringham, Norfolk. Her parents, Frances and Johnnie Spencer, couldn't decide what to call her at first." (p.1)

  I didn't know about Princess Diana before I read this book. But after reading, I think that she was really loved by many people. And I thought that paparazzi is sometimes too radical. I can't believe that she had dead because of paparazzi. Besides, they keep taking pictures after traffic accident. It was too terrible. Of course, when they get a scoop, they will get much money. But if I were paparazzi, I don't want to money with a picture which about bad event of famous person.

Jojo's Story

"It's dark again. So it's evening. It's the third evening. No, I'm wrong. It's the fourth evening." (p.5)

  I don't know that this story is fiction or nonfiction but this maybe happen in the real world. I was very sad to this story, little boy was left alone in the village due to the civil war. If I were this boy, I could not stand this situation. This boy must have been scared. I was also shocked by the fact that he begun fighting with a handgun afterwards. I want peace to come early to civil war regions still.

Japan

"What do people know about Japan. Japan is in East Asia, in the Pacific Ocean- most people know that." (p.1)

  This book introduce about Japan clearly so I would like to refer to this book and introduce Japan to foreign people. And this book was very interesting for me because I could know about Japan from the view point of foreign people. When I read this book, I was recognize the good points of Japan again. I am proud Japan where has many traditional things or cultures. I want more foreign people know about a wonderful country, Japan.
