The Importance of Being Earnest
"I always told you, Gwendolen, that my name was Earnest, didn't I?" (p.78)
Earnest had told a lie that his name was Earnest to become both thoughts with woman who he loved. But, after all, his real name was "Earnest". This is the scene that he knew his real name.
The title of this story is "The Importance of Being Earnest". But, the main character is not earnest. So I couldn't understand why this is the title. After I read this story, I noticed that it is important to name "Earnest". The punch line was funny.
